Comment:
The contractor removed the dock slab and subgrade, an 8” roof drain was found broken and leaked water under the foundation, which has caused the dock damage. They performed a test and determined the best way forward is to remove more of the saturated compacted fill until they get to a level that meets levels that prevent future damage/sagging of the loading dock.
The price is to dig deeper, refill & compact the subgrade. This is an unforeseen condition that wasn’t determined until they had removed that loading dock slab and found the broken roof drain.
